The Geriatric Nursing course for Practical Nursing (PN) students provides comprehensive education on the unique health care needs of older adults. This course integrates American Society of Enterostomal Therapy Nursing (ASEN), Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN), and National League for Nursing (NLN) competencies to foster safe, patient-centered, and evidence-based care. Utilizing Bloom's Taxonomy within the cognitive domain of the NCSBN framework, students will develop critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills pertinent to geriatric nursing practice. The course aligns with New Jersey Board of Nursing standards, emphasizing legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities in caring for the aging population.
